I became a trainee assistant in 1977 at Worthing Golf Club, graduated and became a fully qualified PGA Professional in 1980. I then moved to Ham Manor Golf Club as senior assistant and became the head professional in 1988. In 1996 I was captain of the Sussex Professional Golfers Association. I am a PGA level III coach and have taught golfers of all standards from beginners to professionals. I am knowledgeable on the psychological and biomechanical aspects of the game of golf.
My coaching philosophy is simple; understand yourself, your capabilities, your goals and aspirations and above all enjoy yourself. I like to work with you, as an individual, and to help you understand how something as simple as ball flight can tell you all you need to know about your swing. The golf swing itself should be an individual, personal movement, which can be made more complicated than it needs to be.
Golf is a life-long game and is not learned in a short-term fashion; anyone can learn to play better golf. I believe it is very important to develop a good rapport with each and every student, to build confidence and to ensure they develop and learn about themselves, golf and their swing.
